M&S Transport was engaged by one of the largest electrical infrastructure companies in the country to handle the transportation of multiple ISS and PSS units to the Australian Army’s defence sites across regional Victoria. The task was complex and involved the delivery of 20 six-metre-long and three-metre-tall electrical kiosks to a munitions and barracks site in Bandiana, Victoria. The job had to be completed within a tight four-week window.
The project was a challenging one, as it involved the transportation of multiple units, timed to offset delays in production, yet still meet installation schedules on site. Our project management team worked collaboratively to produce a comprehensive delivery plan for pre-approval by the Department of Defence, a plan that was designed to ensure the successful completion of the task within the given time frame.
The first step was to arrange for the collection of the 20 electrical kiosks from production facilities in Sydney and Adelaide. This involved the careful loading and packing of the units into specialised crates and then onto our brand-new air-ride suspension drop deck semi-trailers. These vehicles were designed to handle oversized loads and extreme weather conditions, making them ideal for the job.
As vehicles made their way towards Bandiana, Victoria, our project manager kept in constant contact with the client, providing them with regular updates on the progress of the delivery.
Upon delivery, the M&S Transport team carefully unloaded and installed the kiosks at the designated sites while adhering to strict safety protocols. The entire project was completed without any incidents, and the client expressed their satisfaction with the level of professionalism and expertise displayed throughout the assignment.
